Red’s visit with Santa

For years, I thought it was hilarious that people brought their pets to see Santa and get their photos taken. It almost kind of seemed silly to me to have this type of thing done. Seriously. Pets? Santa? Hrm. Okie dokie…

WELL, count me in the silly people now.

Here’s the story.

We take Red to a different vet that specializes in small animals. They do the regular dogs, cats, ect, but they are really great with “exotics.” They even have a vet who is a reptile specialist! How cool is that? They also take in injured wildlife pro bono.

So, when we had the need for  a vet for the guinea pig (it was gross.  you don’t want to know.), we went there.

So, The other day, when I took Red out of his cage for some hilarious guinea pig time, I noticed his claws needed a trim. I WILL NOT do the trims myself, even though I know I could. One of his feet is black and has black claws-I can’t tell where the quick is and don’t want to hurt him. So, we take him to the vet and let them do it.

So, I called up and got him in and we took off last Saturday for the vet’s office.

It just so happened that they were doing…

PET PHOTOS WITH SANTA

for donations to one of the animal shelters.

They asked if Red wanted to see Santa…and If Isaac would like to see Santa too.

Isaac bounced and answered YES on both counts.

I then became that person who has their pet’s photo taken with Santa…

Yeah. that’s Isaac, his guinea pig, Red and Santa. How do you say no to a photo op like this?!

Red was the first non cat or dog in Santa’s lap.

Santa had a “conversation” with Red and told Isaac that Red loves him very much and knows that Isaac loves him dearly.

That’s a trueism..

oh, and just one more…

Nope, that’s not just Santa’s belt. That’s Red right int here!

So, ok, I am one of those “silly people,” but when it makes a kid this happy..I’m in.

  3. Omg! I’m dying! This is too cute. I didn’t know Santa did pet pictures. I mean why not? Pets are family members, so it makes sense. So cute. Thank you for sharing
