So, a while ago, a friend sent me a link to Tiny Tots Tea Room (note I’m providing that here), and they had a note on their website about needing a part time music and movement teacher for the preschool set.
I said to myself “this sounds like an interesting opportunity..” so I emailed the owner of the place, Kate and then didn’t hear back for a while.
Well, Sunday, I got an email in my box about her missing the email and she wondered if I was still interested in the position. We emailed back and forth and back and forth, and I even confused her with Tina (from BMFA ) that I had been emailing about some Sock Candy, and she laughed that off!
We made plans to meet today at noon. I drove out there (about 20 minutes..not a big deal!) and the place was SLAMMED. So, I told her that it was ok, and to take her time, because life happens (I know that for a fact) and Doug had agreed to get Isaac off the bus if I ran long. He’s just so happy he can do that now! So, I hung around, and finally she was like “Ok, let’s talk while I make lattes.” Ok. Fine with me. So, we started to chat and get to know each other, and as the time ticked by, she offered me lunch (they have amazing yummy food…try the ooey gooey if y’all go. It’s YUMMMMMYYYY) and I accepted..and we chatted some more over lunch.
She also gave me some supplies for the class, and asked me to use some of the things, and I’m all for that. We were both highly offended by the new, improved bunny foo foo. That’s another post though…
So, I’m now employed again…and it’s 3-4 hours a week (pretty much all Ic an handle with the immense medical needs of the crew around here…) 4 classes a week…2 all ages, and 2 age seperated. I’m happy to be working for a husband/wife team who WELCOME kids, and their son comes to work with them, one of their employees brings her daughter to work with her…and it’s just a nice feel. I felt good in there the minute I walked in.
Talk about things falling into your lap!
So, I’m off to write the music/movement class. If y’all have any suggestions for things, it’ll be totally accepted!
